Place and Change

Description :

Explore how place, interconnection and sustainability shape the landscape of Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, while investigating strategies used to manage urban green spaces for climate resilience and liveability. Through inquiry into the Gardens’ history, design, and Landscape Succession Strategy, students will examine environmental changes, and consider how conservation, wellbeing, and cultural values are balanced in the management of a complex urban site.

 

Students will: 

 

  • Explore the history, design and features of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne
  • Gain insight into the science, conservation, and visitor engagement projects at Melbourne Gardens
  • Learn about RBGVs landscape succession strategy and how the Gardens are being managed for a sustainable future.

  • Botanic Gardens conservation and engagement with different audiences
