This program explores the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne as a place for leisure, learning, engagement, science and conservation. Students will visit significant collections that highlight the various ways the Gardens are utilised by visitors, gain insight into the history of the site, and learn about how the Gardens are being managed for a sustainable future.
 
Students will:
  • Explore the history, design and features of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne.
  • Gain insight into the range of ways the Gardens engage visitors.
  • Gain insight into the impacts on the landscape and how these are being managed for a sustainable future.

Teachers have the option to choose one activity from the following:
  • ID an oak tree to learn about RBGVs landscape succession strategy.
  • Use binoculars to look at the landscape and wildlife.
  • Forest Therapy inspired wellbeing activity.

There is also the option to visit a particular collection or area of interest. Please let us know at time of booking.
